It’s never easy to make decisions about a loved one’s future. Our professionals are sensitive to your soul-searching dilemma. We’re here with a willing ear and a tender spirit to help assure your peace of mind and the dignity of the person you love.
Our trained Admissions Coordinator can offer a full evaluation and answer all of your questions, including those dealing with insurance coverage and cost of care. Perhaps a skilled care facility is not needed at the present time. If it’s not, we’ll recommend alternatives and assist you in finding the correct resources. Accommodations
We provide comfortable private and semi-private accommodations that invite homelike personalization. Residents feel safe and secure in our carefully maintained facility while retaining a great deal of independence.
Skilled Nursing Care
We offer round-the-clock nursing to meet any emergencies that may occur, and to administer medications and medical procedures as prescribed by the resident’s personal physician. IV services are available 24 hours a day by licensed staff under the direction of the resident’s physician. If so directed by the physician, psychiatric services, enteral therapy, rehabilitation and restorative nursing services, wound care, pain management, podiatry and dental services, and diabetic care are offered as part of our skilled nursing services.
Residents and Restraints: What Really Matters
Bethany Rehabilitation strives to be a restraint-free facility. Such a goal requires the commitment and cooperation of the center’s staff, medical care providers, and family members. Together, we can help maintain our goal of being a restraint-free facility, thereby improving our residents’ quality of life.
Restorative Nursing and Rehabilitation Services
Should restorative nursing care or rehabilitation services become necessary, Bethany Rehabilitation is well prepared to provide residents with the support they need to reach their highest level of independence. Unlike many long-term care centers, our rehabilitation specialists are our employees. They provide the finest in physical, occupational, respiratory, and speech therapy under the guidance of the resident’s physician. Bethany also offers a restorative nursing program.
Medicare Amenities
At Bethany we have the pleasure of seeing many of our Medicare residents regain their ability to carry out their activities of daily living independently and return to their former residences. Each Medicare room features a phone and a television for enjoyment, and residents in our rehabilitation program are also offered an array of group and community activities.
A Place of Healing
We offer the finest in Alzheimer’s care on a secure unit specifically designed for our cognitively impaired guests. The unit features an enclosed courtyard so that residents may take a walk on our extra wide walking path through the sunny courtyard and colorful garden areas and enjoy the soothing sounds of a waterfall along with a gentle breeze. Individually designed care plans help our guests achieve maximum independence in a safe and caring environment.
A calming color scheme is found through the elegantly furnished wing. Residents enjoy the large living room and entertainment center. A formal dining room complete with chandelier is complemented by a covered patio that beckons residents to sit outside and relax in rocking chairs.
“Touchable Art” and “Sensory Enhancement Stations” used throughout the unit provide residents with tactile stimulation for active hands. Shadow boxes outside each resident’s room provide an enclosed, framed area for personal pictures and mementos. The adult recreation program for residents of our secure care unit is specially geared to interests and abilities of those with cognitive impairments.
Hospice Services
As part of our hospice care philosophy, we provide loving and compassionate care for people in the last phases of an incurable disease so that they may live as fully and comfortably as possible.
Bethany has a beautifully decorated suite for the comfort of our hospice guests and their family members. A bed is available in the suite for family members who wish to spend the night with their loved one. Meal service is available to families staying with their hospice resident.
Rehabilitation Services
Unlike many long-term care centers, Bethany has its own in-house team of rehabilitation specialists. We offer:
- Physical Therapy
- Occupational Therapy
- Speech Therapy
- Respiratory Therapy
Bethany’s semi-private suites feature a phone and a television for enjoyment, and residents in our rehabilitation program are also offered an array of group and community activities.
Our rehab staff motivates residents to achieve their highest level of independence. Bethany prides itself in the number of residents who have successfully completed a rehab stay and returned home.
We recognize, however, that sometimes after completing a rehab stay and returning home, additional therapy might be necessary. Our outpatient rehabilitation services program is designed to bridge that gap. Residents who return home and require follow-up therapy are able to receive continuity of care as an outpatient at Bethany, with therapists they have grown to trust.
Respite Care
Bethany Rehabilitation is proud to offer the community a service designed to help those dedicated persons who serve as caregivers for family members and other loved ones. Our Respite Care program provides a break for caregivers who may need some time to rest, travel, or attend to their own personal health.
Respite care permits an individual to receive temporary nursing home care in our safe and caring environment. Both Medicare and Medicaid may pay for this service. Check with us for all your specialized nursing home needs.
Fine Dining
Fine dining is a way of life at Bethany. From fine china to a seasonal centerpiece, from a daily delicious continental breakfast to linen napkins and tablecloths, we want to make sure that meals are the highlight of each of our guest’s day. Morning, noon, and evening, our bright, cheerful dining room is an ideal setting for lively conversation, which helps build a sense of community. Carefully prepared meals, served restaurant-style, are the main attraction, and our dietary staff takes pride in presenting well-balanced, savory selections. Residents’ menu suggestions are welcome.
In addition to our regularly served breakfast, Bethany features an inviting Continental Breakfast service for residents who enjoy a cup of coffee and a Danish with their early morning paper, or for those who wish to occasionally sleep late.
Special dietary needs are no problem for us. We recognize that nutrition plays a critical role in an individual’s overall care plan. Our dietitian offers creative solutions to diabetic, low-sodium, and other special dietary needs.
You always have an open invitation to dine with your loved one. In fact, we’ve set aside a private dining room just for that purpose; a place where the whole family can feel at home.
Social Services
Bethany’s Social Services department provides an extensive range of services dedicated to furthering the mental an emotional well-being of our residents. From handling social security and third-party insurance questions, to directing support groups and coordinating discharge preparations, our Social Workers are a valuable asset to both our residents and you.
Bethany is well aware of the impact spiritual well-being can have on physical health and we’re pleased to offer religious services for all major denominations on-site. Our chapel is always open for a moment of quiet prayer and personal reflection. Our Social Services staff is available to contact clergy persons at the request of the resident or family.
Activities
Every day brings new opportunities for Bethany residents to experience social exchange and enjoy individual pursuits. We take a great deal of care in the choosing and planning of activities and social programs that encourage a full life. Regular programs such as volunteer work for the community, newspaper reading, resident birthday parties, crafts, and music are always well- attended. Residents particularly love our daily exercise class and spirited discussions of current events.
How about a field trip? Bethany’s central location makes mini excursions a breeze. Our resident van is perfect for regularly planned group activities and trips to restaurants, theaters, picnics, bowling, community events, etc.
Everyone loves an old-fashioned ice cream social and Bethany residents are no exception. Every afternoon they gather around our antique rotunda-style ice cream parlor for that favorite food of kids of all ages. It’s become a not-to-be-missed social occasion which sparks lighthearted banter and gives friends a chance to catch up on the day’s news.
